Rimpu Marak granted bail by HC in two cases

Tura, Oct 1: Meghalaya State BJP leader and  MDC of Garo Hills Autonomous District Council ( GHADC ), Bernard N  Marak  alias Rimpu, who was arrested recently by Tura Police, was granted bail by the High Court of Meghalaya in two cases yesterday.

Of these two cases, one was related to running a brothel and the other related to the  Arms Act. The cases were heard in the High Court, where the accused’s wife filed a bail petition which was accepted by the Court

With these two cases, Bernard Marak has been granted bail in three cases till date. Earlier, he was granted bail by  Tura Sessions Court in the case related to the issue of price rise of certain food items in Tura market ‘at the behest of’ Meghalaya Chamber of Commerce.

The two remaining cases under POCSO Act  against him will be heard after the Puja vacation, according to  family sources
