DC holds meet on e-Shram in East Garo Hills

TURA, Oct 10: In a bid to maximise the registration of unorganised worker under e-SHRAM portal and to provide optimum social security benefit to the beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Yojana (PMBSY), a review meeting was held on Monday by East Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Jadish Chelani with the District Level Committee Meeting in his office chamber.
During the meeting, Chelani urged the Deputy Labour Commissioner to create awareness and to hold meetings with various line department and stakeholders on the importance of registering unorganised workers on the portal in order to avail PMBSY scheme. The DC has assured to provide help and support to help facilitate the registration process for the workers in the district.
Deputy Labour Commissioner, MN Marak, informed that in order to access the social security and welfare scheme, a worker can self register by visiting e-SHRAM portal www.eshram.gov.in or by visiting the nearest Common Service Centre.
It may be mentioned that, so far, 20378 workers have registered under e-SHRAM portal in East Garo Hills district.
