Connectivity from Shillong Airport improves

SHILLONG, Oct 20: Connectivity to and from the Shillong Airport has improved in recent times and is set to get an additional boost with the Director General of Civil Aviation increasing the movement of flight from 60 to 68 per week in the updated winter schedule.
The Shillong Airport is now connected to Kolkata, Dimapur, Imphal, Aizawl, Silchar, Agartala and Lilabari airports. An airport official said more flights are expected to be added shortly.
The official also said that SpiceJet has initiated the process of operating a flight on the Kolkata-Shillong-Kolkata circuit.
As of now, Shillong is connected with a lone flight to Kolkata operated by Indigo.
However, there is no direct flight between Shillong and New Delhi at present.
