SHILLONG, Oct 22: The National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH) has granted accreditation to Supercare Hospital, Shillong, making it the first and only hospital in Meghalaya to secure the recognition.
According to a statement, Supercare Hospital, which received the NABH entry-level certification on October 5 last year, secured the full NABH accreditation on September 29.
This certification, according to the hospital, is valid up to September 30, 2026.
“Patients are the biggest beneficiaries from both the full NABH accreditation and the entry-level certification as it results in a high-quality care and patient safety. Patients are served by credential medical staff. The rights of patients are respected and protected, and their satisfaction is regularly evaluated,” a statement from the Supercare Hospital said.
Meanwhile, Founder and Managing Director of Supercare Hospital Dr RS Thangkhiew believes that the accreditation bolsters the vision of the hospital.
“With every passing season, we acquire more state-of-the-art and cutting-edge equipment and hire the best human resources available. Supercare aims to be a torch-bearer in new treatments, methodologies and philosophies concerning health and health services, while also ensuring that the foundational values of healthcare remain our strength,” Thangkhiew said.
It is pertinent to note that the NABH is a constituent board of the Quality Council of India (QCI), which has been set up to establish and operate accreditation programmes for healthcare organisations. It is an institutional member as well as a board member of the International Society for Quality in Health Care.
Furthermore, hospitals accredited by the NABH get international recognition.
