Sanbor launches children’s park at Madan Laban

SHILLONG, Oct 23: A children’s park at Madan Laban was inaugurated by local MLA Sanbor Shullai on Saturday. The MLA also laid the foundation stone for construction of motorable road from existing PWD road via community hall up to Raid Laban Forest at Madan Laban, which was sanctioned for Rs 83.73 lakh.
The park was sanctioned under Central Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (amrut)-Scheme 2021-22 for an amount of Rs 55.35 lakh.
After inauguration, the ‘Greenery Children Park’ was declared open by the MLA for all children below 12 years of age in the presence of traditional leaders of all Dorbar Shnong within Raid Laban Dorbar, teachers, students, local NGOs and residents of Greater Madan Laban Area.
The South Shillong MLA’s work garnered praise aplenty from speakers at the function.
Speaking as the chief guest, local legislator Sanbor Shullai appealed to all to strengthen, love and respect secularism not communalism.
