SHILLONG, Oct 26: All does not seem to be well in the State BJP camp. After sending out threats of withdrawing support to the MDA Government, which did not materialise till date, the party has now served a show-cause notice to Michael Kharsyntiew, an aspirant who intends to contest the election on a BJP ticket from North Shillong.
State BJP president Ernest Mawrie, on Wednesday, served a show cause notice to Kharsyntiew for deliberately distorting the stated position of the party in the media.
According to Mawrie, Kharsyntiew did not secure permission before calling a press conference and even made an appeal to JA Lyngdoh, who has already resigned from the party.
He has been asked to reply to the show cause notice within seven days.
It may be mentioned that Kharsyntiew had appealed to former BJP leader JA Lyngdoh not to contest the election but work with them and help BJP secure the North Shillong seat.
