Miscreants set ablaze truck at Rangblang

MAWKYRWAT, Oct 26: Miscreants torched a truck which belonged to a company based from Russia, VozrozHdenie, which is involved in construction of the 43-km intermediate road from Nongstoin, West Khasi Hills, to Wahkaji village in South West Khasi Hills.
According to the police, the incident occurred at Rangblang Pombriew village, South West Khasi Hills, circa 2 am on October 23.
The truck in question has been damaged and is lying on the roadside for many weeks. The truck was charred.
Refusing to divulge further information about the incident, the police said they received complaints from the construction company about the incident on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the Synjuk ki Rangbah Shnong (SRS) of Rangblang area has condemned the incident.
Chairman of the Synjuk, B Thongni, said that such acts may interrupt the smooth conduct of the work on the Nongstoin-Wahkaji road, which, according to him, is a very important road for the people of West and South West Khasi Hills.
