SHILLONG, Oct 26: Notwithstanding speculations about the likelihood of him being denied a ticket by the National People’s Party (NPP), party’s MLA from Phulbari SG Esmatur Mominin has declared that he is never going to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Mominin’s statement comes from following reports that say four legislators from Garo Hills including him may be denied ticket by NPP, and they could join the BJP in such a situation.
“I am never ever going to join BJP,” Mominin asserted, while adding that he is still an NPP leader.
However, he also stated that if the party disallows him to contest on an NPP ticket, he would hold consultations with his supporters before taking a final call on choosing a party on whose ticket he shall compete.
He also took the opportunity to reveal that many political parties have already approached him.
