SHILLONG, Oct 29: BJP Meghalaya in-charge Chuba Ao’s supposedly low-key visit to the state and eventually to Raj Bhavan here on Saturday has triggered speculation that the State BJP could withdraw its support to the MDA coalition government in Meghalaya.
BJP national vice president Ao was accompanied by a National Council Member during the visit to Governor BD Mishra’s residence.
On his way out of Raj Bhavan premises, Ao was about to speak to the press as he almost lowered his side of the vehicle’s window but before he could utter a word, one of the occupants prevented him from speaking and the car sped away.
Interestingly, none of the State BJP leaders were aware of Ao’s presence in the state and his meeting with the Governor.
What transpired during their meeting and what issues were deliberated over with the Governor were not known till the time of filing of this report.
