MLCU, PRIME Startup Hub ink MoU to promote entrepreneurship in state

SHILLONG, Oct 31: Martin Luther Christian University, Shillong, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the PRIME Startup Hub to set up Entrepreneurship Promotion and Development Programmes (EPDP) and Incubator at MLCU, Umsawli Campus.
According to a statement, the EPDP envisions to make entrepreneurship a preferred career choice for the youths and people of Meghalaya through the “creation of a dynamic and collaborative ecosystem that enables easy availability of credit, relevant technology, skilling and mentoring support, and access to high leverage markets”.
“The EPDP and Incubator to be implemented by MLCU through its Centre for Career Planning & Development and supported by PRIME Startup Hub, will be provided through a series of planned interventions to facilitate support mechanism for aspiring entrepreneurs, start-ups, and early-stage enterprises to translate their innovative ideas into business and sustain them in the long run by fostering effective networking opportunities. The planned intervention will commence with the establishment of the Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell), following which the cell will be responsible for managing the EPDP activities,” the statement said.
It may be mentioned that the MoU was signed between PRIME Startup Hub, represented by Executive Director of Meghalaya Basin Management Agency Shivansh Awasthi, and MLCU, represented by Registrar Dr. Iwamon WJ Laloo.
