NONGPOH, Oct 31: Ri-Bhoi Police on Sunday evening seized contraband items and arrested a resident of Manipur.
According to police sources, a vehicle (ML05S9485) was intercepted by Ri-Bhoi Police following receipt of a tip-off about one person smuggling contraband items into the state.
After a thorough search of the vehicle, 74 soap boxes of heroin, valued approximately around Rs 4.8 crore, were recovered and subsequently confiscated.
One person hailing from Manipur, Simtekhan Tluanga, was also arrested in this connection.
