Shillong institutes observe vigilance awareness week

SHILLONG, Nov 5: Scores of activities marked the observance of vigilance awareness week in select educational institutes in the city.
According to a statement, BSF Senior Secondary School, Umpling, observed the vigilance awareness week from Oct 31 to Nov 5 during which poster-making, essay-writing and debate competitions were organised for the students.
The schoolchildren also aired their views on the issue of corruption in India.
On the concluding day, students took the integrity pledge in the presence of Inspector General of BSF Meghalaya Inderjit Singh Rana, who appreciated the participating students and felicitated the winners of various competitions.
Observance at BBS College
Buddha Bhanu Saraswati (BBS) College also joined the week-long observance by holding a slew of programmes, including slogan-writing competition.
“Banners and posters on the theme of vigilance awareness week were also displayed for information of all concerned in the premises of BBS College,” a statement in this regard said.
It was also informed that a total of 40 students participated in the programme.
“The winners of the competition were suitably awarded with trophies and mementos,” the statement said.
