SHILLONG, Nov 10: After a gap of two years due to COVID-19, the annual Eucharistic procession of the Shillong Archdiocese will be taken out on Sunday with the church expecting an attendance of 80,000 faithful.
The annual procession could not be held in 2020 as well as 2021 in view of the restrictions imposed to control the raging COVID-19 pandemic.
Parish Pastoral Council general secretary, Barnabas Nangbah, said the holy mass will be held at the Calvary at 10 am on Sunday and the Eucharistic procession will begin at 1:30 pm.
Only two bands – Don Bosco and Savio Juniorate — will be allowed to play, he added.
Nongbah also said that setting up of food stalls inside the parish compound will not be allowed.
