SHILLONG, Nov 15: Governor BD Mishra has conveyed his greetings to each and every member of the press, print and electronic media and the reporting fraternity of the state and the country on the eve of National Press Day. He expressed hope that the occasion will inspire every journalist and all others associated with the press to maintain the highest standards of true news reporting, a statement issued here said.
“Today, they (the press) are actively playing a positive role. Press Media brings out every detail of public affairs, encompassing all aspects of human activities, be it legislative, administrative, judicial, social, law and order,” he said.
The Governor said that the press in the country has achieved a very high standard of societal responsibilities and it is actively promoting the news dissemination.

It is gratifying to see that the media has been successful in giving itself a much-needed progressive turn, in pace with the changing times of globalisation.
