TURA, Nov 15: India and Bangladesh have decided to reopen the reopen Kalaichar border haat after COVID-19-induced gap of over years.
The decision was taken during an Indo-Bangla Joint Border Haat Management Committee meeting on Tuesday, which was convened by South West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Gideon Kharmawphlang and District Magistrate of Kurigram, Bangladesh, Md. Rezaul Karim.
Others who were part of the meeting include haat committee members, Customs Officer, officials of Bangladesh Administration, et al.
During the meeting, both the parties mutually agreed to reopen Kalaichar border haat from November 30.
The haat will now function on Mondays and Wednesdays.
