BSF seizes over 1,000 Phensedyl bottles in WJH

SHILLONG, Nov 20: The troops of 4th Battalion Border Security Force (BSF) on Saturday seized as many as 1025 bottles of Phensedyl cough syrup worth Rs 2.1 lakh from the international border in West Jaintia Hills, which were meant to be smuggled to Bangladesh.
Since the beginning of 2022, BSF Meghalaya Frontier has seized 7,433 bottles of phensedyl from Indo-Bangladesh border.
Routes and patches prone to smuggling are kept under strict vigilance by the force to tighten the noose on smugglers and to discourage their nefarious attempts, a statement issued here said.
