Liquor raid
The office of the Deputy Commissioner (Excise), in September, detected 19 cases of illicit liquor and illegal sale of IMFL, beer, etc., and seized 95.70 litres of liquor and 37.20 litres of IMFL. As many as 16 persons have been arrested.
Office-bearers
The Trinamool Congress (TMC) Mawlai Block on November 17 formally inducted the new office-bearers of the Kynton Massar Unit, which was constituted recently, under the leadership of the block president, LR Dkhar, and general secretary, AK Nongpiur. The office-bearers are C Langstieh (president), Bili Nonglait (vice president), Andy Kurkalang (general secretary), besides four joint secretaries and 10 executive members.
