Bishnoi to hold Meghalaya DGP’s post till May 2024

SHILLONG, Dec 2: Dr Lajja Ram Bishnoi will hold the post of the Meghalaya Director General of Police (DGP) till May 2024.
“In pursuance of Supreme Court of India’s Orders and in the interest of Public Service, the tenure of Dr. L.R. Bishnoi, as the Director General of Police (Head of Police Force), Meghalaya, Shillong, in the Apex Scale of Pay (Level 17) in the Pay Matrix shall be for a period of two years,” a notification issued by the Principal Secretary of the Home (Police) department said.
An Assam-Meghalaya cadre IPS officer of 1991 batch, Bishnoi, who assumed charge on May 20, 2022, as the Meghalaya DGP will hold the post till May 19, 2024.
