5 in SGH police net on charge of robbery

BAGHMARA, Dec 3: East Garo Hills Police on Saturday arrested five persons in connection with a robbery which took place a week ago in the village of Siju Rewak.
The arrests were made by a special squad of the district police after receiving inputs on the whereabouts of the suspects, all of whom were allegedly from nearby Gabil area under East Garo Hills.
Police have also recovered four mobile phones from the arrested suspects, who have been identified as Sixbath Sangma (21), Nengman G Momin (20), Tangseng Arengh (20), Grikjang S Sangma (19) and Tengbirth G Momin (20).
“The matter is currently under investigation and we are looking at all angles and all involvement in the case,” informed district police chief, Siddharth Ambedkar.
