Ceremony
The Meghalaya College Teachers’ Association (MCTA) on Saturday organised a prize distribution ceremony for the winners of various online literary competitions, which were organised as part of its ongoing golden jubilee celebration. A total of 20 students from different educational institutes were awarded prizes under various categories. During the programme, MCTA president Dr. BH Buam spoke about the importance of organising such competitions to foster critical and creative thinking among individuals. She also said that platforms like this are essential for the development of young minds.

Condolence
The Gorkha Association on Sunday condoled the demise of noted footballer from Meghalaya, Ajay Thapa, who breathed his last on November 29. During the meeting here, the members of the Association paid tributes to Thapa. A two-minute silence was also observed as a mark of respect for the departed soul.

Performance
Shraboni, a Bengali group, recently represented Meghalaya in a spiritual stage play in Silchar, Assam. According to a statement, the play, viz. Noti Binodini is the story of Ramakrishna, written by Girish Chandra Ghosh. A BJP delegation led by Michael Kharsyntiew had also visited the rehearsal at Bangiya Sahitya Parishad in Jail Road along with state BJP Mahila vice president Unis Khyriem and well-known artist Dolan Chakraborty. The group was also provided financial help.
