Cleaning drive
The Dorbar Shnong Lumshatsngi Kench’s Trace will organise a cleaning drive on Saturday from 8 am. In this regard, all house owners, tenants, shopkeepers, et al, have been asked to take part in the cleaning drive.
Complaint
The Sohbar Sirdarship Local Exporter and Importer Association (SSLE&IA) on Thursday lodged a complaint against overloading of limestone and boulders that are carried to Bangladesh. In a letter to the inspector of Majai Land Custom Station weighbridge, Association secretary O Syiemtwa said it has been noticed that vehicles/trucks carrying limestones/boulders more than 12 tonnes are allowed to enter Bangladesh in violation of law.
Protest
The All Garo Hills SSA School Teachers Association announced that it will resort to democratic agitation from December 22 if the state government fails to release the pending salaries by December 21.
