Mock drill on Covid readiness

SHILLONG, Dec 26: A mock drill will be held on Tuesday across a number of health facilities in Meghalaya to ensure their readiness to deal with any eventuality related to COVID-19, officials said on Monday.
The central government has directed all states and union territories to hold mock drills at all health facilities across the country on Tuesday in the wake of a surge in Covid cases in many countries.
Principal Secretary of Health Sampath Kumar said instructions have been issued to all the hospitals to conduct the mock drill.
The focus of the mock drill will be on availability of health facilities, bed capacities, optimal availability of human resources including doctors, nurses and paramedics, availability of advanced and basic life support ambulances, testing capacities, and medical oxygen.
The drill will be held under the guidance of the respective DCs in close consultation with officials of the Health Department.
