ECI’s full team to visit state on Jan 13

SHILLONG, Dec 29: The full bench of the Election Commission is scheduled to visit Meghalaya on January 13 next year to review preparedness for the Assembly elections due in February.
The full EC team, comprising Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar and election commissioners Anup Chandra Pandey and Arun Goel, will hold several meetings with government officials and representatives of political parties and take stock of the security arrangements for the elections to the 60-member House.
Prior to landing in Meghalaya, the ECI team will pay a two-day visit to Tripura which is also headed for polls early next year along with Meghalaya and Nagaland.
