RESUBELPARA, Jan 3: People of Kharkutta, North Garo Hill, who are aggrieved over not receiving CGI sheets, sought the Deputy Commissioner’s intervention to address their grievance on Tuesday. Earlier their names appeared in the list of beneficiaries.
The scheme in question is the SWRP scheme of the local MLA of Kharkutta, Rupert Momin. The information, according to the beneficiaries, was received through an RTI.
“Our names appeared on the list of beneficiaries who were supposed to receive CGI sheets but have not got them in reality. One of us was listed twice for two years in the list but got nothing. These are common grievances that we want to bring forward to your notice,” said the beneficiaries. They felt that authorities took undue advantage of their lack of education and they have been duped by government officials.
The beneficiaries have sought an impartial investigation into the matter so that those involved in such act are not spared and they are provided their dues. “We believe the local MLA may be involved in the matter and demand an investigation to be completed within 15 days,” one beneficiary said.
Some of the beneficiaries, who have been duped, are Hailash Sangma, Menothi Momin, Holsy Sangma, Wither Sangma, Marachina Sangma, Wilnodish Marak, Diana R Sangma and Grenilla Marak.
