AL Nasr terminate Aboubakar’s contract
PARIS, Jan 8: Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr have reportedly terminated the contract of Cameroon striker Vincent Aboubakar in order to register Cristiano Ronaldo, per the Daily Mail.The striker will depart the club due to a Saudi League rule which states that a club can register up to 8 foreign players. In order to include Ronaldo in the squad, the club would have had to release one of their existing foreign players and they were aware of it while signing the Portuguese talisman, the report stated.Aboubakar has mutually agreed to terminate his contract and will be compensated by the club, according to reports in France. Mary Kom to miss World Championships
NEW DELHI, Jan 8: Six-time world champion Mary Kom has announced that she will be pulling out of this year’s boxing Women’s World Championship due to injury. The 40-year-old, who has won a total of eight medals in the Worlds, has not specified the nature of the injury but she said that she is looking to “recover soon”. The IBA World Championships will be held from May 1 to 14 this year in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. “I will not be able to participate in IBA Women’s World Championship 2023 due to injury. I am trying to recover soon. I hope we can get more champions from this championship. I wish all the best to the participants”, Mary was qouted. (Agencies)

Zidane refuses to become coach of USA
WASHINGTON, Jan 8: Prominent French football manager and former player Zinedine Zidane has rejected an offer to become a new coach of the US national men’s team, US media reported on Sunday, citing sources.The United States Soccer Federation has contacted Zidane to offer him to manage the national team after the contract of current coach Gregg Berhalter is expired.
