NCC trekking expedition flagged off in Shillong

SHILLONG, Jan 12: More than 500 NCC cadets are part of the NCC All-India Trekking Expedition, which was flagged off from North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) campus.
According to a statement, cadets from Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura and Meghalaya are part of the seven-day expedition, which was flagged off by Additional Director General of NCC, Major General Gagan Deep, in the presence of NEHU Registrar SK Dixit.
“The cadets will trek to Shillong Peak, Smit Cultural Centre, Sweet Falls towards the scenic countryside of Shillong and visit war museums and heritage buildings in the city to get an insight of the rich culture and traditions of Meghalaya,” the statement said.
