M’laya suffer crushing defeat versus Rajasthan

Shillong, Jan 19: Meghalaya were defeated by 259 runs in their second match of the Senior Women’s One Day Trophy versus Rajasthan in Nagpur on Thursday.
Meghalaya won the toss in the Group C contest and chose to field first but Rajasthan were able to compile 312/3 in their 50 overs.
Riticia Nongbet was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 2/48 in 10 overs. Not only was she the most successful in terms of wickets, she was also the most economical of the seven Meghalaya bowlers used. Ajima Sangma took the other scalp, finishing with 1/63.
In reply, Meghalaya were buldled out for 53. Once again, guest player Sejal Raut top-scored with 13 runs. Daiaka Warjri also contributed 10 to Meghalaya’s cause.
Meghalaya’s next match will be against Assam on Saturday.
