SHILLONG, Jan 21: Voice of the People Party (VPP) on Saturday officially launched ‘winnower’ as the election symbol of the party.
VPP president Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit unveiled the party symbol at Smit village.
“The VPP chooses ‘winnower’ as the symbol of the party because it has deep ideological connotation which fits the ideology, aims and objectives of the party,” Basaiawmoit told UNI over phone.
Stating that the VPP strives to bring clean politics and good governance, Basaiawmoit said that the party will ensure doing away with politics of arbitrariness, exploitation, nepotism, corruption, unaccountability and irresponsibility.
“We believe we can do it together,” the VPP chief said. (UNI)
