KV, Tura holds painting competition as part of PM’s flagship programme

Tura, Jan 23: Students of schools from various districts in Garo HIlls on Monday, eagerly participated in a painting competition organized at Kendriya Vidyalaya in Tura, on the occasion of Prime Minister NarendraModi’s Flagship Programme ParikshaPeCharcha.

 

The school was selected as one of the nodal schools among 500 other Kendriya Vidyalayas in the Nation.

 

Prior to the painting competition, a brief programme was held at the school in which Member Secretary to the Jury and Training Officer NSTI, Ms Darisa Kharwanlang was the Chief Guest.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Kharwanlang said that failure was a part of every endeavour and urged students not to be discouraged by it. Narrating her own experience from her school days, she encouraged the students to learn from their mistakes and get back on their feet to try again no matter how many times they fail.

 

Earlier in the day, the Chief Guest also lit the inaugural lamp to kick off the programme. Prizes along with certificates were later distributed to the winners of the painting competition by the Chief Guest.

 

The winners of the painting competition included Sengkame B Marak of JNV, Baghmara (1st), Priya Saha of KV, Tura (2nd), Dome Momin of KV, Tura (3rd), Dipanita Rabha of JNV, Mahendraganj (4th) and Cheana B Marak of Captain William School, Tura (5th).

 

Others who also attended the programme included Principal in-charge of the host school, G K Verma, teachers and staff.
