Road mishap kills 2, leaves 4 hurt

SHILLONG, Jan 28: Two persons were killed while four others sustained injuries after a speeding vehicle rammed into a truck at Puriang village along Shillong-Jowai road on Saturday evening.
According to East Khasi Hills Police, the incident occurred at 4:05 pm when one car (ML05X4880) crashed against a truck (ML 10 C 8097), killing two people, including a woman, on the spot.
A toddler was among the four other occupants who sustained injuries and were immediately rushed to Mawryngkneng Community Health Centre.
Meanwhile, a probe has been ordered to ascertain the facts of the incident.
