On Sunday, Meghalaya won the toss and chose to field first. Himachal batted aggressively to post 419/6 in 72.2 overs and declared only after Mukul Negi was dismissed for 152 by Aryan Bora. The left-arm spinner was the most successful with figures of 3/106. Ram Gurung scalped 2/93 and Manish Sharma 1/71.
At stumps, Meghalaya were 23/1, having lost Anish Charak for a run-a-ball 12. There were extensive weather disruptions on Monday, which meant that Meghalaya only got to 64/5 in 22 overs when stumps were called by the umpires.
