SCA 3rd Div: Jersey Kings, Cluster emerge victorious

Shillong, Feb 4: Jersery Kings and Cluster CC won their respective games in the Shillong Cricket League 3rd Division at the MCA Cricket Ground here, on Saturday.
In the first game Jersey Kings beat Slog Warriors by 13 runs. Batting first, the Kings scored 157/5 in their allotted 20 overs. Gopal Sundar (58 runs in 53 balls) and Arun Sewa (42 runs in 35 balls) top scored while, Subhakar Turah (2/18) and Suraj Turah (2/38) claimed two wickets apiece for the Warriors. In response, Slog Warriors could manage 144/7 in their 20 overs, with Rakesh Rai (23) and Manish Prasad (19) being the top scorers. For Jersey Kings, Sewa (1/18) and Sunar (1/24) were the pick of the bowlers. Sunar was adjudged the Player of the Match for his all-round performance.
In the other game of the day, Cluster CC defeated Occult CC by 6 wickets. Batting first, Occult scored 98/7 in their 20 overs. Pawan Rana (26 runs in 44 balls) and Eddyson Sohkhlet (22 runs in 26 balls) were the best performers for Occult with the bat. Sanjib Biswa and Mukesh Singh with figures of 3/18 and 2/21 respectively for Cluster. In reply, Cluster made 100/4 in 19.4 overs with Paritosh Roy top scoring with 34 runs in 39 balls, and ably supported by Anurag Paul (18 runs in 21 balls). Siddharth Sharma (1/8) and Marty Mustafa (1/19) were the pick of the bowlers for Occult. Biswa was named the Player of the Match for his outstanding bowling.
