Those involved in COVID-19 fund mutualisation must be made answerable: Dr Aman War

Shillong, Feb 7: The United Democratic Party (UDP) candidate from North Shillong, Dr Aman War said that the people who were involved in the COVID-19 pandemic management expenditure of Rs 803 crore must be made answerable by the voters on the utilisation of such a huge fund.

While speaking to reporters after filing his nomination papers here on Tuesday. Dr War said that the COVID-19 expenditures from Directorate of Health Services (MI) was Rs 248 crore and the same was placed in the floor of the Assembly.

“You need to ask the people who are involved in it now that the COVID-19 expenditures that  reached Rs 803 crore,” Dr Warr who was the former DHS (MI) during the time when COVID-19 pandemic had hit the state in 2020.

While replying to the accusations of the Congress that he has become richer after the COVID-19 pandemic, he replied by saying that does it mean he has not earned and save anything during his 30 years of service.
