Natl Lok Adalat takes up 1,065 cases across state

SHILLONG, Feb 11: A total of 1,065 cases — 562 pre-litigation cases and 503 pending cases — were on Saturday taken up for settlement in the National Lok Adalat held in all the districts of Meghalaya.
According to a statement, the National Lok Adalat was held under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and under the patronage of Chief Justice of High Court of Meghalaya Justice Sanjib Banerjee and under the supervision of High Court Judge Justice HS Thangkhiew.
Out of the total number of cases taken up, 102 cases were settled for Rs 52,60,488.
