NONGPOH, Feb 20: Assam Chief Minister and BJP leader, Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday exuded confidence in the party to form the next government in Meghalaya.
Sarma, who is also the convenor of the North East Democratic Alliance, said this after a brief meeting with party candidate from Nongpoh, Marian Maring, at her residence on Sunday evening before leaving for Shillong to oversee the party’s campaign for the February 27 polls.
“For the first time, BJP is contesting from all 60 seats. I was there in Tura in the last two days, I have seen a lot of support for BJP this time, even in Ri-Bhoi, our candidate is doing good and I believe that this time we will be able to form a government in Meghalaya,” Sarma said.
