SCL Super Division: Nongmynsong emerge victorious against NFU

Shillong, Feb 20: Nongmynsong CC got better of NFU by 53 runs in the Shillong Cricket League Super Division match in MCA Polo ground on Monday. Batting first, Nongmynsong put up a massive 260/5 in the allotted 40 overs. In-form Jaskirat Singh missed a deserving century when he was bowled by NFU’s Indarjeet Rai at the score of 94. Anish Charak and Roshan Warbah also contributed with 51 and 50 respectively to help Nongmynsong post the massive total. Former Meghalaya skipper Raj Biswa was the most successful bowler for NFU, bagging 2/35 in his 8 overs. Akash Choudhary, Indarjeet, and Abhishek Biswa claimed one wicket each for NFU. In response, NFU managed to score 209/9 in their 40 overs. Opener Mrinal Das (87 runs off 83 balls) and middle-order batter Ayushman Das (41 runs off 35 balls) were the top scorers. For Nongmynsong, leggie Himan Phukan (3/37) and Raghav Magotra (3/34) were the wreckers in chief. Charak and Gaurav Jyoti Thakuria bagged a wicket each. Jaskirat was adjudged the Player of the Match for his brilliant innings.
