Condolence
Chairman of the Grand Council of Chiefs of Meghalaya, John F Kharshiing, has conveyed his condolence on the passing of former minister HDR Lyngdoh. In a statement issued here on Tuesday, Kharshiing recalled Lyngdoh’s many years of strong commitment to serve the people of the state, besides his humility. “…we convey our heartfelt condolences to the family members and pray the Almighty grant the family members strength and solace during this time of great loss,” the statement read.

The National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science & Applications, Shillong College, inaugurated a 200-hour free course on Mobile Technology, for the final semester students of the Department of Computer Science & Applications under the project ‘Capacity Building in IECT Including Training in Digital Skillsets and Current Industry Demanding Technologies for Various Sections of Society in the North East States’ on Monday. Executive Director, NIELIT, Guwahati, and Shillong, Dr. Yumnam Jayanta, besides the Principal of Shillong College, Dr E Kharkongor, and others were also present.

NESAC Umiam observed the Swachhata Pakhwada 2023 from February 1 to 15 with activities like talk on water quality parameters and its effect on health, essay writing competition, plogging run by staff of NESAC and CISF Unit of NESAC, awareness campaign in nearby villages, e-waste collection, cleaning of water bodies, making of compost pits and distribution of manure, etc. being the highlights.
