SHG members take voter’s pledge in SGH

Tura, Feb 22: A SVEEP activity – A Pledge in a Flag was on Tuesday organized by the Office of the District Election Officer South Garo Hills in collaboration with NRLM at Dubagre village where members of Jakusan took a Pledge in a flag made with cloth to come and cast their vote on 27th February 2023.

The programme was attended by General Observer Manoj Kumar, IAS where he encouraged the SHG women to work together and urge their fellow villagers to come and vote in coming election. He even requested the SHG members to make full use of their strong network.

During the programme, SHG members wrote a voters’ pledge on the flag and signed their initials. The same activity is to take place across the SHG network within the district and on the eve of poll day all the signed flags will be exhibited at Simsang bridge displaying the unity of SHG women of the South Garo Hills.
