SHILLONG, Feb 24: TMC’s South Tura candidate Richard M Marak, who is all set to lock horns with NPP’s Conrad Sangma, BJP’s Bernard Marak and UDP’s John Lesee Sangma, believes that the last five years of the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance has been a misrule.
Speaking about the elections, Richard said that he is banking on TMC’s promises and pledges for a good performance of the party.
Terming the last five years of the MDA “misrule”, he said that people are aware of BJP’s ideology, which is unacceptable in the state.
“We are offering an alternative, and this election is being fought on the issue of corruption. Our focus is on providing a corruption-free government,” Richard said.
Exuding confidence that the party will secure seats in double figures this year, the South Tura candidate said that everyone in the state would be empowered under a TMC regime.
He also alleged that there has been no real development in South Tura constituency.
Whatever they have done, it was not for the people, Richard argued, calling the MDA a ‘give-and-take’ government.
