Temporary traffic arrangement for voting, counting days in WJH

SHILLONG, Feb 26: In view of the voting day and to ensure smooth flow of traffic in West Jaintia Hills, the Superintendent of Police has made specific traffic arrangements in the district for Monday when votes will be cast and Thursday when the votes will be counted.
No entry points have been marked at Thomas Jones Junction towards DC’s office, Tpep-Pale towards Iawmusiang, Mission Compound road towards Iawmusiang/DC’s office, HK Singh Tri-Junction towards DC’s office, and Dawki stand towards DC’s office, according to a statement from the SP.
All vehicles coming from Riatsiatsim side will be diverted towards Mynthong (district library side).
All vehicles coming from Khimmusniang/Jrisalein side will be diverted to Chutwakhu road, while those that arrive from New Hill side/Shillong road will be diverted towards Kynruh Saphlang and Thomas Jones.
On Monday, all four parking lots at Iawmusiang will be evacuated from 2 pm, the statement said.
