Sensitisation
The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) in collaboration with the KVK, East Garo Hills, on Thursday, conducted a one-day district-level workshop-cum-awareness programme on millets at Williamnagar for a total of 71 farmers from 15 different villages covering all the three blocks in the district. As part the awareness programme, which was organised to spread awareness about millet cultivation in consonance with International Year of Millets 2023, different varieties of millet and it products were showcased for the gathering.
Programme
Dalmia Bharat Foundation, in partnership with USHA International, initiated ‘Silai School’, a sewing programme, to empower over 100 marginalised women in Assam and Meghalaya. In Meghalaya, the programme was initiated for women of Lumshnong village in East Jaintia Hills.
