Hearing camp
Nawka, a company with a long tradition in hearing healthcare supported by experienced and dedicated Audiologist, Speech Pathologist and other technical service staff, will be conducting a hearing camp in Shillong from March 15 to 18. The camp will be held at 1st Floor of the building beside Meghalaya Cooperative Bank opposite Nazreth Hospital. All hearing testing, audiologist consultation, trial of digital hearing-aids and counseling will be done absolutely free of cost. All children and adults who suspect hearing defect have been asked to avail the benefit of the free check-up, on prior appointment only.

Conference
The Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) will organise the East Zone Regional Conference of the Executive Chairman, SLSAS, Chairperson, HCLSCS, & Member Secretaries, SLSAS at Vivanta Taj Hotel from 9:30 am on March 18. The Regional Conference will deliberate on enhancing the Access to Justice, wherein the participating states would be Meghalaya, Sikkim, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and West Bengal. Executive Chairpersons, State Legal Services Authorities (SLSAs), Chairmen, High Court Legal Services Committee, and Member Secretaries of SLSAS will be among the participants. The Inaugural session will be live-streamed on NALSA’s YouTube channel 9:30 am onwards.

Training
The National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) in collaboration with the Meghalaya State Disaster Management Authority will be organising a three-day training programme on ‘Technological Innovation in Weather Forecasting, Early Warning & Last Mile Connectivity’ at the Lecture Hall, Meghalaya Administrative Training Institute (MATI), Mawdiangdiang, from March 14 till 16.

Programme
Jio employees along with their business partners celebrated ‘52nd National Safety Week 2023’ in Shillong and Tura recently. National Safety Week had started with the administration of safety pledge, display of banners & posters and distribution of badges. Safety promotional activities like Quiz competition, poster competition, one-act play/drama, safety awareness training were conducted to ensure that people are aware and follow them in order to avoid workplace incidents.
