EGH celebrates Yuva Utsav

TURA, March 16: Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), Williamnagar, organised a one-day Yuva Utsav, thematised on ‘Viksit Yua-Viksit Bharat’, in Williamnagar on Wednesday.
Organised as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and participated by students from various schools and colleges, the programme was attended by East Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Jagdish Chelani, Director of Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI), CG Momin, Deputy Director of NYKS, Linda BK Sangma, among others.
Speaking on the occasion, Chelani informed that India has a good demographic dividend as well as the required economic growth potential.
Dwelling on the Yuva Utsav, he also deliberated at length on demographic disaster.
The DC also urged the students to be positive in their efforts to achieve their respective goals in life and assured them all possible help from the district administration.
Momin, on the other hand, highlighted the importance of financial inclusion and social security schemes and urged the youths to avail schemes being provided by the government.
Sangma, while addressing the gathering on Yuva Utsav, highlighted the ‘Panch Pran’ or the Five Resolves to make India a developed country by the time it celebrates the 100th Independence Day.
During the programme, the NYKS also organised various competitions like poetry-writing, declamation, drawing and painting, mobile photography and folk dance on the ‘Sense of Duty among the Citizens’ and the winners were awarded cash prizes and certificates.
