12 more detained after fresh clases in Maharashtra’s Jalgaon

Shillong, April 2: In the wake of fresh clashes between two groups on Saturday in Maharashtra’s Jalgaon district, the police have detained at least 12 persons have been detained.

“A conflict between two groups broke out in Atarwal village of Jalgaon district after a statue was vandalised by unidentified people,” Jalgaon SP M Rajkumar said.

The officer stated that 12 people have been detained in connection with the clashes and that situation was now under control. The matter is being investigated by the police.

Over 55 individuals were detained earlier on March 30 in connection with a fight that broke out between two groups over music being played outside a mosque in Maharashtra’s Jalgaon district, the police informed.

According to the Jalgaon SP, two FIRs have been filed, and the situation is currently calm and under control.

According to authorities, a dispute between the parties over music being played outside of a mosque escalated the situation and resulted in the altercation.
