Shillong, April 3: A fresh explosion was reported early on Monday in the town of Mochi Tola, Bihar, two days after a bombing left six people injured in Sasaram town of Rohtas district. This incident is the most recent in a string of violence and arson that disrupted Ram Navami celebrations on March 30 across the nation.
“We heard an explosion-like sound in the morning but cannot confirm if it was a bomb burst or some fire-crackers,” said Sub-Inspector Ram Naresh Singh.
After the district’s Ram Navami parade, there have been a number of reported skirmishes. Police and state government is putting in all efforts to keep the situation under control.
Following the Ram Navami parade a fight broke out between two groups in Sasaram. There have also been reports of stone pelting nearby. The authorities in Sasaram city issued prohibitory orders in accordance with Section 144 of the CrPC in order to preserve the status quo of law and order.
Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, presided over a high-level conference regarding the unrest that followed the Ram Navami procession.
