One arrested with banned drugs

Nongpoh, April 5:  Acting on this tip-off, the ANTF team in Ri Bhoi today detained a passenger vehicle with registration number ML10 A 2089 at Shangbangla under Nongpoh Police Station and recovered 20 soap boxes suspected to contain illegal contraband heroin from one person identified as Dipankar Ghosh, aged 35 years and hailing from Upper Jail Road East, Shillong, East Khasi Hills.
The net weight of the recovered contraband heroin was found to be 191.02 gms. The suspect was immediately detained and brought to Nongpoh Police Station, where a criminal case would be registered against him as per the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
