SHILLONG, April 5: The state government is under the scanner yet again for another slipshod construction work.
A video has been doing the rounds since Wednesday morning where a citizen is seen exposing the substandard road construction work being undertaken at Mawroh in the city. The video shows the man pulling out the thin layer of bitumen used to cover the old road.
The authenticity of the video could not be independently verified by The Shillong Times.
Most of the roads in the city are getting a facelift ahead of the G20 meeting in the city on April 17-18 but the thickness of bitumen and the quality of repair work has left citizens unimpressed.
When contacted, PWD (Roads) Chief Engineer KK Mawa said that he has already instructed the engineer to take necessary action and submit a report on the matter after verifying the location seen in the viral video.
