Three-year-old injured in hit-and-run case in WKH

NONGSTOIN, April 9: A minor girl, little over three years of age, was hit by a vehicle in a hit-and-run case at Pomdkhar village, West Khasi Hills, on Sunday.
After the incident, the vehicle fled the scene towards Shallang area.
During inquiry, it was learnt that the incident occurred at 3:40 pm. The 3-year-old was identified as Aidalin Nongsiej of Pomdkhar village.
She was with her parents and was returning from a church service with her parents when the Bolero (ML05G9122) coming from Shillong and en route to Tura hit the little girl.
It was discerned that the vehicle was driven by one Henrick D Sangma (38) of Tura.
The vehicle in question was intercepted at Shallang market with the help of policemen from Shallang Police Station.
The 3-year-old victim has been shifted to Shillong Civil hospital for further treatment.
The vehicle has been seized and necessary formalities have been observed.
