SHILLONG, April 12: UDP president Metbah Lyngdoh has advocated the need for the state government to take all the stakeholders into confidence before taking any decision on the proposed railway projects in the state.
“We need to involve the stakeholders. Taking them into confidence is the right way to move forward,” Lyngdoh told reporters on Wednesday.
Referring to the demand of the pressure groups that the Centre should implement ILP before discussing the railway projects, Lyngdoh said, “The state government will need to earnestly pursue with the Centre in view of the resolution adopted by the Assembly for implementation of ILP.”
The UDP president also said that the party will raise this issue with the chief minister shortly.
