NONGPOH, April 13: A body of a man, identified as one Mitun Sen from Guwahati, was recovered from a tourist vehicle at 9th Mile Baridua, Ri-bhoi.
After being apprised of the incident by the headman of 9th Mile Baridua, a Ri-Bhoi police team rushed to the spot only to find the vehicle (AS01FC6912) on the roadside opposite CRPF Gate.
A subsequent inquiry was conducted, following which the deceased was identified as a resident of Jayanagar, Beltola Chariali.
Inquest and other legal formalities were also conducted.
The body was then forwarded to SDM&HO, Nongpoh Civil Hospital, for autopsy to ascertain the cause of death.
Meanwhile, the police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
